Elizabeth Loudon has taught violin and viola for over 15 years. She holds a BM in Performance from the Univ. of IL and a MM in Performance from Univ. of MN. She has studied with Roland Vamos, Richard Marshall, Catherine Tait, Guillermo Perich, Heidi Castleman and Morris Collier. An active freelance player, she has performed with such groups as the Minneapolis Pops Orchestra, Chanhassen Dinner Theatre Orchestra, Minnetonka Chorale Orchestra, Philomusica Chamber Orchestra, viola soloist with the St. Olaf Choir, Wooddale Church Orchestra, Mt. Olivet Orchestra, L. A. Philharmonic, Springfield (IL) Symphony, Sinfonia da Camera (IL), Urbana-Champaign Symphony, Chicago Lyric Opera, Lincoln (NE) Symphony, and Nebraska Chamber Orchestra. She has also soloed with the Metropolitan Symphony, Bloomington Symphony and the Hastings Symphony (NE). Currently, she is principal violist with the Rochester Symphony and a founding member of the Rosewood String Quartet. Her students perform in the Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphonies, Minnesota Youth Symphonies, and the Minnesota All State Orchestra. Many of her students have continued their music education through college and as a career. She is trained and certified in the Suzuki Violin method.
Elizabeth has requested a minimum age of 6 years old.
