Sarah Curtiss started teaching in 2013 and has a strong musical background rooted in piano and flute. She holds a master's degree in flute performance from Bowling Green State University where she was the graduate flute teaching assistant and a bachelor's degree in flute performance from the University of North Dakota. Sarah is passionate about chamber music and advocating for new music. In 2022, her trio, Trichrome, placed second in the Douglas Wayland Chamber Music Competition, and Sarah was selected as a performance fellow for the Cortona Sessions for New Music where she was a finalist in the contemporary performance competition. Sarah is an active performer both nationally and regionally. When she's not playing flute, Sarah enjoys playing her Nintendo Switch, listening to podcasts or audiobooks, reading, and being outside.
