Donald is a passionate player, writer, and teacher of music. He asked to start the violin at the age of 5 after experiencing a fiddling show in Branson Missouri. He studied for 13 years with three different teachers in the Omaha area learning classical and fiddling styles. After high school, he pursued a degree in violin performance at the University of Nebraska at UNO. During his studies at UNO, Donald also had two years of piano instruction. In 2015 he completed his senior recital performing violin works by Bach, Dvorak, Kabalevsky, and Rachmaninoff. He started teaching violin locally in 2011. Donald has developed a teaching style that involves getting to know and understand each individual student. This allows him to provide excellent teaching advice that is unique to each student. Donald currently works at Schmitt Music in the piano sales department, and offers lessons in violin, viola, and beginning piano.
