Taylor began playing violin at age 9. She gained concertmaster experience throughout middle school, high school, and college. She earned a scholarship to play in the South Dakota State University orchestra where she attended college & gained a Bachelors Degree in Economics.
While attending SDSU, Taylor gained experience teaching students through the SDSU String Project using Suzuki Methods. She taught weekly violin lessons to students grades 3 ‐ 8. The experience levels ranged from beginner to advanced. She also taught the advanced chamber group which consisted of a mix of violin, viola, and cello players.
Outside of performing classically, Taylor enjoys playing pop music on her violin and electric violin. She has played in talent shows, for many wedding ceremonies, and in nursing homes. She enjoys creating song covers on her violin with accompanying instruments like the ukulele and keyboard.
Taylor brings an encouraging and fun approach to teaching so students truly enjoy their time playing. Students will learn technical skills and pop music may be sprinkled in if they express interest!
