Biography:

Will first experienced drumming in the 4th grade at the age of 9 and has been playing since. His love of music led him to a BA in music from Macalester College, where he studied with Joe Holmquist, and to the University of Wisconsin, Madison, where he studied with Anthony DiSanza and earned a Master of Music in Percussion Performance. He has studied independently with many master drummers, including Sowah Mensah from Ghana, Roberto Vizcaino from Cuba, and Eliezer Freitas from Brazil.

Will has performed with many organizations and groups in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, including the Rochester Symphony Orchestra, VocalEssence, the Twin Cities Gay Men's Choir, and the National Lutheran Choir. Small and world groups Will has played with include Ticket to Brasil, Brasil com S, Melody Mendis and the Dramatics, Zacc Harris, Blue Daddies, and Amenhotep and Company.

Will encourages his students to think creatively and musically, while developing necessary techniques. He teaches percussion at three area colleges, the University of St. Thomas, Hamline University, and Normandale Community College. He also teaches private lessons at his home studio in Minneapolis.
